A couple thoughts: 1) Reading DeYoung’s review before I read Barr’s article OR yours, I thought, “Gaslighter”. You mentioned that, too. DeYoung is the master propagandist of TGC. His reviews serve to confuse the reader rather than shed light. It’s not his first review to do this. 2) White reformed evangelicalism’s price of admission is abandonment of logic and reason at the deepest level by being required to believe that God is good despite creating the vast majority of people to burn in hell for eternity for sins he ordained for them to commit. Once that contradiction is instilled, it really doesn’t matter how illogical the WRE culture gets - it’s already on a foundation of authoritarian control.
