Dan, I like how you organized and described these different kinds of abuse, but I don’t think EVEN ONE is unique to the Church! Take “Sin Watching” for example. You describe it well but there are non-Christian people on social media doing the same thing with all kinds of thoughts and behaviors they consider “sins”. Another example is “Spiritual Bypassing”. This is commonly known as “thought stopping” in other contexts and happens all the time outside the Church.

I think what you’ve described are common types of abuse that Christians engage in while giving the abuse a sprinkle of “Jesus seasoning”.

I think you’ve mentioned him in your writing, but Steven Hassan has documented all these behaviors in his BITE Model.
