I think it’s possible pastors (and congregants) view a pastor’s job as being the church’s main source of spiritual vitality. But I think the pastor’s job may be to lead the church TO the main source of spiritual vitality. Pastors may even WANT to be seen as the spiritual life-source in the congregation instead of pointing people away from themselves and to Christ.
