I’ve got some sincere questions for you: does your congregation have formal ownership in the church? Do they have voting rights? Is ministry spread throughout the church so that congregants lead ministries and are empowered to do so by the use of job descriptions and delegation of authority? Are you regularly evaluated by your superiors so that you are encouraged in those areas in which you are doing well?

I regularly stop at a restaurant near my house. I like it; it cooks good food. I have absolutely zero ownership in the place and, if it were to close, I would feel slight disappointment before finding another place.
